UAN stands for Universal Account Number. It is a 12-digit number provided to all Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation members. One generally gets the UAN when they start their first job. The UAN E Sewa portal lets you access all the online Provident Fund services easily. However, you first need to follow a simple UAN activation process.
The UAN is allotted by the Ministry of Labour and Employment. It is a unique number, and every employee can have only one UAN throughout their service period. If you change your employer, just like your EPF account, UAN also moves to your new employer.
